Barry entered the M.F.A. printmaking in the fall of 2003. Originally from Tennessee, He has lived in Miami for the past nine years. He has also live and worked in Pennsylvania, Texas, South Carolina, Montana, and Louisiana. He earned a Masters of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University, and a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Middle Tennessee State University. Both degrees are in studio art and he continues to paint and exhibit regularly. Barry has held a variety of teaching positions at universities including Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Florida International University, New World School of the Arts in Miami, and the College of Charleston. In addition to teaching experience, He has worked as a museum registrar, gallery director, and in various other capacities at museums, and at commercial and university galleries. Currently, he is the Gallery Manager at the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami. He has a long exhibition history at venues including Trinity Gallery in Atlanta, Provincetown Museum, Florida State University’s Museum of Fine Arts, Memphis Center for Contemporary Art, Erie Museum of Art, Ft. Lauderdale Museum of Art, San Bernardino County Museum, and the New Orleans Contemporary Art Center. His works are part of collections including Metro Nashville Airport Authority, American Express Group in Atlanta, Sunshine Advertising, Atlanta, Bank of Nashville, Image Design, Atlanta, Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Greater Baton Rouge Arts Council, and the Art Museum at Florida International University. |
