SGC 2000 CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Wednesday March 1

Transportation: Conference buses will begin running every half hour from the airport hotels and the Downtown Coral Gables Holiday Inn to the UM campus at 2 pm and continue through 10:30 pm. (Note: There is alternativel public transportation available from the Coral Gables Holiday Inn - Both MetroBus lines 52 and 56 run from downtown Coral Gables to the UM Metrorail Station once an hour all day until 8 pm, and twice an hour in rush hour. University Holiday Inn registrants can just cross US 1 at Alhambra and walk to conference locations or pick up the campus "Hurry ‘Cane" shuttle from the Parking Garage; the Dickinson Route goes from the Parking Garage to the Ceramics/Sculpture Studio and then towards Stanford Hecht Residential Hall and back. The Fountain Route can be picked up at the Parking Garage and goes to the Palm Court which is a short walk to the Art department. The Stanford Route can be picked up at the Parking Garage and runs past the University Metro Rail Stop to the Student Center.

If you are driving, parking passes must be obtained at the Parking Garage; however parking on campus between 9am and 5pm is extremely limited! Consider parking at the garage or in the “satellite” lots and using the campus shuttle. There is a map of both the shuttle routes and the parking lots available at the Parking Garage.
FYI: in addition to the regular shuttle routes, the Sgt. Sebastian Escort Service is offered every evening from 6pm to 12am. Two 15-passenger vans circle the campus, servicing the designated Hurry 'Cane Shuttle Routes. The vehicles provide transportation as well as security escort services. Security is provided on an on-call basis from 12 a.m. to 2 a.m. If you desire a security escort or have special evening transportation needs, please call 305-284-6666 or use any of the emergency blue-light telephones on campus.

3:00 - 8:00 pm Conference Registration and Print Exchange drop off - University Center (Student Union). Please remember prints must be 11 x 14 inches and in an edition of 12. Bring your $5 fee to cover the folio costs.
For dining on campus tonight, the University Center includes the food court which is open until 6 pm, the Rathskeller and Sbarro’s Pizza (which are both open later. It also includes the convenience store and game rooms; there is seating indoors and out by both the pool and the lake.

Transportation: Conference buses will run from 7 am until noonfrom the airport hotels and the Downtown Coral Gables Holiday Inn to the University; they will resume shuttling to the the hotels between 3:30 pm until 10:30 pm. Transportation to the evening events downtown will be by Metrorail; cost is $1.25 each way so have some change handy!

Buses will run from Downtown Coral Gables for the evening Gables Gallery walk back to the University Holiday Inn and to the Airport Hotels from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
