Michelangelo's David originally stood in the Piazza della Signoria, in front of the Palazzo Vecchio. The original is now housed in the Academia and a copy stands in its place in the piazza. The Palazzo is currently undergoing extensive exterior renovation and the statue of David has been enclosed in a protective steel structure. | ||||||||||||||
