This is a view of the historical section of Florence as seen from the cemetery along side San Miniato al Monte, on a hillside just north of the city. To get to this scenic overlook was an invigorating climb in what was uncharacteristically hot weather for Florence in late May. 90° temperatures were the norm throughout most of my month long stay in Florence. According to weather reports I saw on my return to the states this heatwave gradually spread throughout much of Europe for the remainder of the summer .
