On the last day of classes for the spring semester students celebrated their efforts by hosting a juror-free "egalitarian art exhibition and end of semester party" at the Rainbow Building. The activity was conceived and organized entirely by art students but because the organizers got the word out it attracted a wide spectrum of students from all across campus. It was a fabulous success and a great way to close out the year. |

Besides the large number of 2-D and 3-D artworks (not to mention the last minute improvised installations), there was a video piece and a powerpoint projection shown upstairs in the mezzanine and live music from three bands in the silkscreen room. |

The majority of the artwork was installed in the drawing room. It provided a great setting for the positive energy and impressive talents of the UM student body. |

A large number of students contributed to this very successful event but special acknowledgement needs to go to Marc Johnson and Beth Hanks, without whose initiative and hard work it never would have happened. |
