Art is alive and well in this tropical paradise. Come down and join us. Program Description The Department of Art and Art History is, in effect, an art school within a large private University. It brings together talented students and a faculty of highly regarded professional artists and art historians.We have 17 full-time faculty and a solid group of full-time instructors and adjunct faculty who are active professional artists. We offer the B.A. in general studio art and the B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Ceramics, Graphic Design/Illustration, Painting, Photography / Digital Imaging, Printmaking, and Sculpture. The B.A. and M.A. are offered in Art History. Our programs are rigorous but enjoyable, designed for personal development and career success. Facilities The Department of Art and Art History currently has five Macintosh computer labs (45 G4s, 15 G3 266's a variety of flatbed scanners, slide scanners, a half dozen Epson 3000 inkjet printers, three Epson 7000 plotters, and a film recorder). Art History has a large lecture hall, a seminar room/library and the largest slide library in South Florida. Ceramics and Sculpture have their own area along a peaceful waterway on the south side of the main campus. There are large studios there and a huge open-air space to work year 'round. It offers every facility for three dimensional art making, including glass blowing and the Southeast's largest foundry. No description can take the place of a personal visit.
